Idaho Snow Mold Control Evaluation by Paul Koch, Ph.D.
Snow mold control evaluations conducted by University of Wisconsin – Madison professor, Paul Koch, Ph.D., at Whitetail Club and McCall Golf Club in McCall, Idaho, are now available for free on the Idaho GCSA website, idahogcsa.org (local chapter of the participating courses).
These evaluations test experimental fungicides not yet on the market, new fungicides recently brought to the market, or new combinations of products already on the market to find the most effective snow mold control options for golf course superintendents in Idaho and surrounding states. The evaluations are primarily supported by the companies that include treatments in each trial. In addition to the scientific report included for each year, pictures of each treatment at each location are also included for you to view. Special thanks to Rick Mooney and Nick Korthals from Whitetail Club and Eric McCormick from McCall Golf Club for hosting these trials and additional thanks to the chemical manufacturers for testing their products in the trials.
